Joshua 13-15 Caleb was one of the two spies who believed, was faithful, and wholly followed the Lord. God blessed him over the 40 yrs. they wandered in the wilderness, and the five years they were conquering the land after they crossed Jericho. In that time, Caleb was not only faithful to God but faithfully raised a Proverbs 31:10-31 woman in his daughter Achsah. He passed on to her the gifts of wisdom, discernment, boldness, and faithfulness.

Caleb challenged the men to take Kiriath-Sepher, and the prize or spoil of that conquest would be Achsah as a wife. Caleb’s nephew Kenaz led the charge and after marrying, Achsah boldly went to her father and asked for springs of water for her land. Just like the Proverbs 31:10-31 woman, she knew what any wise landowner knows; you must have water to grow crops and water animals.

Caleb was not only a warrior, faithful to God but was also a strong and faithful father. Today we need faithful fathers to raise faithful children/daughters and to instill in them wisdom, discernment, and a bold spirit.
