“How Blessed We Are!”

Ps 32-33 If there is a psalm that touches the heart of every believer it is Psalm 32 with its words:

“How blessed is the one whose rebellious acts are forgiven, whose sin is pardoned! How blessed is the one whose wrongdoing the Lord does not punish, in whose spirit there is no deceit.” [NET]

“How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered! How blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit!” [ISV]

As we read this we are reminded of Psalm 1 with a similar refrain: “How blessed is the man” Over and over throughout scripture we read of the blessings. In Psalm 32 it refers to “happiness that God-given security and prosperity produce.”

When we look within ourselves we see nothing but the depravity of our hearts but when God looks he sees transgressions or the sin for which his son has paid the price of our redemption. How can one be ungrateful when one reads these words? How can one stand with fist upraised to a holy God who sees beyond who we are to who we are in His eyes? How can we not stand amazed at the blessings that have been poured out upon us? If we do nothing else but ponder and recite these words back to Our Precious Heavenly Father, our Precious Savior Redeemer Jesus, our Precious Illuminating Holy Spirit on our prayer walk it would be enough to carry us through today and on into tomorrow.

Beloved are you as humbled as I am when you read these words?
